It’s been a great journey thus far…from good ol’ Pennsylvania to Stanford, CA to Buffalo, Atlanta and the many cities around the world I’ve visited through football and leisure travel. I’ve been blessed to meet many wonderful people like all of you and I want to share some news with everyone who I’ve had the great pleasure of connecting in some way.
I am thrilled beyond measure to be joining FOX this fall as a college football analyst. (*cue Biggie Smalls track* “Going, going, back, back to Cali, Cali”)
FOX Sports 1 is going to launch on August 17th and we are determined to make watching sports fun again. We are going to offer unique, insightful, delightful and intriguing interpretations of the sports stories, teams and players we all like, love, or loathe.
My main role will be as a studio analyst for our college football coverage. I’m thrilled to be joining the college football crew that includes awesome folks like hosts Erin Andrews and Rob Stone, and analysts such as former Heisman winner Eddie George, Petros Papadakis, Joel Klatt, and Ryan Nece. Outkick the Coverage editor Clay Travis and NFL on Fox rules analyst Mike Pereira will also contribute to shows.
I’ll be on Thursday nights and also on gamedays – Saturdays – to talk about the games and top storylines.
On Fridays, I’ll be able to have some fun on FOX Sports Live which is the nightly news-and-highlights show that will go head-to-head with “SportsCenter”. The on-air crew includes Charissa Thompson, tennis star Andy Roddick, Gary “The Glove” Payton, Molly McGrath, and the hilarious combo of Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole who may be the funniest sports anchors ever. (watch these “highlights” of them)
One show to keep an eye out for on FOX Sports 1 will be “Crowd Goes Wild” hosted by none other than Regis Philbin. It starts on Aug. 19 and will be like “Live! with Regis and Kelly,” with fun, sports-centric topics. He and his co-hosts, including Wall Street Journal columnist Jason Gay, comedian Michael Kosta, former Pro Bowl defensive end Trevor Pryce, Sky Sports host Georgie Thompson, and YouTube star Katie Nolan who will serve as the show’s social media correspondent, won’t be afraid to talk about entertainment or general news either. There will be a guest every day from the world of sports or entertainment.
The fun will begin soon, and I hope that you’ll join me from time to time. If you do, be sure to holler at me via Twitter or Facebook when you see me. Whether you’re telling me that you thought I made a good point, that you like my outfit, that my head is shiny or that I have a booger, it’ll be awesome to hear from you throughout the show.
I’m looking forward to representing all of my family, friends, acquaintences and social media pals well. I’ll do my best to make you proud!
